FAQ

When am I charged?

If you choose Money at risk, your chosen amount is charged for each active day you haven’t marked complete before its deadline. Nothing is charged when you lock in. The current test mode uses test cards only, so no real money moves.

Can I change a commitment after I lock it in?

You can’t edit a commitment after locking it in, so check your details first. For cancellation or payment questions, contact oleksiy@valiantpartners.com.

Does Mate store my card details?

Your card details are handled securely by Stripe. Lock in Mate does not store your full card number.

What happens if I complete my commitment?

Mark it complete through your private commitment link before the deadline and you won’t be charged for that active day. If your commitment spans multiple days, keep checking in on each active day until it’s finished.

What happens if my card is declined?

If a charge can’t be processed, Mate will record the failed payment and notify you. You will never be marked as successfully charged unless the payment actually succeeds.

What happens if I complete my commitment just before the deadline?

If you mark the commitment complete before the deadline, it counts as completed and your consequence will not be triggered. Server time is used to determine whether completion happened before the deadline.
